Washington DC - Part 2

You always see the picture of the Washington Monument reflecting in the Pool that lies between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument....here is mine! I also got a picture of the reflection of the Lincoln Memorial in pool too!
I thought this was pretty cool too. It was take off to the side but still neat. We walked up to the monument and the stairs are all marble, and some were even loose! It is amazing to think that I was walking up the steps to a place where the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.had once spoken, along with the many people that were there to listen to him. I wish that we had not missed the re-enactment of his speech.

Inside the monument is the ever famous statue of the President and on the walls are portions of his speeches. Here is Tate with the President. By the time that we had made it to this stop on our walk it was very busy and difficult to find a good spot to take a picture, every one was trying to do the same thing!

From here we began to walk towards the tidal basin. But before we got there we came across the Korean War monument. The walls on this monument are engraved with pictures that are difficult to see unless you are at the right angle.

Also at this monument are statues of Soldiers that are walking through the field. They are very realistic and you think that they may just walk out of their positions.

Wow, there is so much I want to share that this is going to make it into a 4 part blog!
